Support for Both New and Existing Blackbaud Schools.
I help schools fully implement Blackbaud or improve systems that aren’t meeting expectations. My work includes hands-on configuration, cleanup, troubleshooting, and long-term planning. I identify inefficiencies and redundancies, enhance data integrity, and streamline workflows so your tools support your daily operations. I also support broader change management needs, including transitions, migrations, and training during periods of staffing turnover.
Blackbaud Services
Initial Engagement; Complimentary Consultation
The first step is to meet with the school to understand what their needs and goals are. This call is free of charge and an opportunity for the school to highlight priorities, pain points, and a vision for what they hope to accomplish through our partnership.
Blackbaud Systems Health Check
Included in this check is a full system audit. I’ll take the time to review its current use, data integrity, roles and permission settings, efficiency, and fluidity. Based on the assessment, I’ll offer a detailed report on my findings. This report will outline recommendations, alignment with best practices, and identify areas of opportunity to improve and further engage your community. The Health Check includes a 90-minute call with your team where we will discuss the results of the audit, and your team will have the opportunity to ask questions.
This full system health check is a flat $1800.

Operational Support Beyond Blackbaud
In addition to Blackbaud support, I also help schools navigate transitions, refine workflows, and strengthen long-term operational systems.
EdMD Partners
“I highly recommend Matt Drown for any school navigating a transition to Blackbaud or looking to optimize their use of the platform.
During our due diligence process, another school connected us with Matt as a reference. He responded immediately and even joined early planning conversations ahead of a formal engagement to help ensure we were set up for success and negotiating effectively with the vendor. That level of initiative and partnership set the tone for everything that followed.
Throughout our transition, Matt has been exceptionally responsive, knowledgeable, and effective. He understands the Blackbaud ecosystem deeply and is able to translate that expertise across a wide range of users. Many members of our staff were initially intimidated by the system, but Matt’s patience, clarity, and teaching ability helped them build both competence and confidence quickly.
Beyond his technical expertise, Matt brings a strong strategic lens. He consistently asks the right questions, challenges assumptions in a constructive way, and offers thoughtful recommendations that improve systems, workflows, and outcomes.
Equally important, Matt is incredibly reliable. In a school environment where timing matters and small issues can quickly become urgent, his responsiveness—regardless of time or day—has been invaluable.
I have already referred Matt to several colleagues and institutions, all of whom have had similarly positive experiences. I would strongly recommend him and would be happy to speak further with anyone considering working with him.”
